Roy A. "Bud" Easler, 93, of Spartanburg, died Sunday, August 5, 2012, at RoseCrest Retirement Center-Inman. Born December 21, 1918, in Spartanburg, he was the husband of the late Alma Juanita Israel Easler, and son of the late Rev. Jerry W. and Ina Arthur Easler.

Mr. Easler was a World War II veteran of the U. S. Army and a prisoner of war for 18 months during the African Campaign. He was a member of Cudd Memorial Baptist Church and formerly employed by Spartanburg Schools District #7.

Surviving are his son, Jerry B. Easler and wife Diann of Spartanburg, SC; daughter, Julia E. Blihar and husband Ralph of Williamston, SC; six grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and brothers, T. Glenn Easler and Russel "Pete" Easler, both of Spartanburg.

A graveside service, with military rites, will be conducted at 11:00 AM Saturday, August 11, 2012, in Sunset Memorial Park, by the Rev. Danny Garrett.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Cudd Memorial Baptist Church Prayer Garden Fund, 1301 Boiling Springs Road, Spartanburg, SC 29303.
