Virle "Nonnie" Maynor Johnson, 93, formerly of Heritage Court Apartments, died Friday, June 29, 2012, at Camp Care Nursing Home. Born October 14, 1918, in the Beaumont Community of Spartanburg, she was the daughter of the late James Arthur and Floy Ann Branch Maynor. She was a graduate of Cecil's Business College and a retired secretary/bookkeeper from Rice Music House. Mrs. Johnson was a member of Morningside Baptist Church, where she was a member of the Ruth Sunday School Class.
Her surviving children include daughter Harvie Ann Wilkins and husband Charles H. Wilkins of Inman, daughter Barbara Tindall and husband Sydney Tindall of Chattanooga, TN, son Eric Johnson and wife Patrice Johnson of Gatlinburg, TN, son-in-law Larry W. Timmons of Inman, 20 grandchildren, 38 great-grandchildren, and eight great-great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by daughters Kay J. Timmons and infant Eva Lounette Johnson, four brothers, and one sister.
Mrs. Johnson's legacy to her family was a love of God first, the fact that no one in her family ever had to doubt her love, and an unshakable persistence no matter what life brought her. She was truly an example of a strong, faith-filled woman; and she will be extremely missed.
Visitation will be 5:00-7:00 PM on Sunday, July 1, 2012, at Floyd Greenlawn Chapel. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM on Monday, July 2, 2012, at the Chapel, conducted by the Rev. Dr. Kirk H. Neely and Mr. Frank Johnson. Burial will be in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens.

The family wishes to thank the staff of Camp Care for their excellent care, love, and compassion.
They will be at the home of her daughter, Harvie Ann Wilkins, 6348 Highway 11, Inman.
