Virginia Ruth Burch Fowler, 88, of Spartanburg, died Tuesday, July 24, 2012, at Spartanburg Regional Medical Center. Born December 28, 1923, in Spartanburg, she was the widow of Art Fowler and daughter of the late J. C. Burch, Sr., and Donnie Shackleford Burch.
Mrs. Fowler was a member of St. Mark United Methodist Church and was employed as a clerk for Smith Outz Drug Store for 20 years.
Surviving are her sons, Ray Fowler and wife Linda of Columbus, GA, and John Fowler of Spartanburg, SC; daughter, Cheryl Fowler of Spartanburg, SC; grandchildren, Ginger Gossett and Pete Fowler, both of Spartanburg, SC; three great-grandsons; one great-granddaughter; sister, Beulah Cash of Spartanburg, SC; and former daughter-in-law, Gail Fowler of Spartanburg, SC.
Visitation will be 6:00-8:00 PM Thursday, July 26, 2012, at Floyd's Greenlawn Chapel. A graveside service will be conducted at 2:00 PM Friday, July 27, 2012, in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, by the Rev. Bill Westafer.
