Chester Ray Storie, 69, died Sunday, July 29, 2012, at Spartanburg Regional Medical Center. Born December 12, 1942, in Beech Mountain, NC, he was a son of the late Ivey Wilburn and Floy Ethel Jones Storie. He was formerly employed by Clarkson Industries and a member of Arcadia Masonic Lodge #285. He was a member of Fall Creek Baptist Church in North Carolina and attended Emmanuel Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Joan Storie; daughters, Rhonda Rice (Randy), Tammy Smith (Allen), and Teresa Haulbrook (Mark), all of Spartanburg, SC; four sisters and a brother, all of North Carolina; five grandsons; three step-grandsons; one step-granddaughter, two great-grandchildren; and six step-great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by four sisters and one brother.
Visitation will be 1:00-2:45 PM on Tuesday, July 31, 2012, at Floyd's Greenlawn Chapel. Funeral services will follow at 3:00 PM at the Chapel, conducted by Pastor Frankie Taylor and Pastor David Mattox. Burial will be in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens.
Memorials may be made to Emmanuel Baptist Church, 3000 Stone Station Road, Roebuck, SC 29376.
