I remember many great times with the Steinecke family when we all lived in Syosset, NY, a long time ago. Walter was always funny and full of energy. One of my favotire memories is when he made hot-dog shaped hamburgers for us kids. I am sad to see that he is gone from this Earth, but glad he had such a good long life. Wishing peace for all his family.

To Aunt Dottie and family: Please accept my sympathies for your loss. Uncle Walter was very special to my mother, Dorothy, his big sister. She was very proud of lhis service in WWII and loved visiting him "down South." Aunt Dottie, I remember visiting you in Syosset, Long Island, and seeing your palm trees around the pool, and I remember your favorite color in the 1950's- burnt orange! It's strange the little things that we remember. My love to you all.

Dear Aunt Dottie, Scott and Kurt, as the daughter of Uncle Walter's youngest sister (Gladys) my furthest memory is their home on Candy Lane in Syosset. I remember Scott and Kurt having snakes and/or lizards and it completely freaked me out!!! I remember visits from Uncle Walter and Aunt Dottie when they would come visit my parents in New York and my parents visiting with them when they were living in Sarasota, Florida. Uncle Walter was a great brother to his youngest sister (my mom) and will be greatly missed

Kurt, I am so sorry to hear about your dad. Praying for comfort and peace for your family. We are out of town this weekend so we can't make it to funeral home. May God give you peace and strength in the coming days.

Dear Aunt Dottie, Scott, Kurt, Brad and family,
As the daughter of Walter's oldest sister Dorothy (now deceased) I would like to add my memories of Walter when I was a child visiting my Grandma Gertrude's (whose middle name was Margaret) house in Lynbrook NY. I remember seeing Uncle Walter as a very tall man who picked me up and swung me around in the air to my delight. I remember Walter, when he was young and single, dressed up at night leaving my Grandmother's house with his clarinet to play with a band. I remember Walter and my Aunt Gladys (his youngest sister) at my Grandmother's house kidding around with the family while Glady's fiance Frank was away in Korea. These are, indeed, early memories. I also remember visiting Walter and my pretty Aunt Dottie when they lived on Long Island and visiting my cousins Scott and Kurt. My last memory of Walter and Brad (who is the same age as my son David) was a few years ago as we all had breakfast with my sister Lynda and her new husband Bob, my sister Patrice, and my husband Larry in Manahawkin NJ. after Lynda and Bob were just married. Life is so short and I wish there was time to make more memories, but I will cherish the memories I have. With Love, Margaret, Larry, Jessica and David LeRoy

Uncle Walter always had a smile on his face! I remember fun, summer visits to Candy Lane; swimming in the pool; and the artificial palm trees and flamingos. I thought they looked very cool (still do!). Had so much fun playing with my cousins and watching my Uncle in the pool with the kids and enjoying every moment. When my boys were young, Aunt Dottie and Uncle Walter took a road trip and made a stop at our house in NJ. My sons were totally thrilled when they opened the trunk of the car... it was filled with treasure they had collected at yard sales along the road. Best surprise ever. When Bob and I were married, Uncle Walter and Brad made another, very long, road trip to celebrate with us. He was a dedicated family man and loved all of us. I'm sure even now, he's not very far away and our loving memories will keep him close until we meet again.

Kurt: I am sorry to note the passing of your Father. Even though I didn't get the chance to know him, I can tell he was a great man by his many accomplishments. Now I know how you got your technical ability. You are in our thoughts and prayers.

Dear Grandma Dottie, Scott, and Kurt:

We were so sorry to hear about Grandda's passing, but we rejoice that we had him for almost 90 years. We especially rejoice that he lived to see the birth of our beloved Will, and almost lived to see him turn three.

Sincerely,
Kenneth Hamilton
